About this site
_ Worth The Prompt exists because I got tired of AI recommendations that read exactly like the marketing site. So the bar here is simple: a tool only gets a review after I’ve run the same core prompts through it myself,
Each tool gets the same five tests — long document summarisation, a real coding task, a hard multi-step reasoning question, image understanding, and a cost figure for a typical week of use. Scores are out of 5, and the findings table shows the raw result for every test.
There are no ads, no affiliate links and no sponsored reviews. The newsletter is free and the site stays free because it’s a hobby with a spreadsheet. If I change my mind about any of that, it’s a line in the changelog below.
What I cover
- Cloud models — the big lab APIs and any smaller one worth paying for.
- Local models — what actually runs well on consumer hardware, with memory figures.
- Apps & managers — the local AI managers and prompt tools that sit on top of both.
